A group of local musicians and singers are coming together to put on a Variety Show in the Damer Court Hotel Friday 1st of October in aid of Roscrea Hospice.
They get together every Tuesday night to play and sing mixture of music from Country, Ballads, Blues, Jazz and also some of the old classics from the 60s & 70s. All these musicians have been performing for many years and have been members of various bands and showbands. The backing band for the night will be guest musicians from Dungarvan, Portarlington, Thurles and Rathdowney.
Also on the night a group of young traditional musicians from Waterford have agreed to open the show. They are a 7 piece group known as Dilse all of them are under 17 years of age and have all been All Ireland Champions on their various instruments. They write some of their own music and have already been offered a recording contract. They built up great reputation for themselves and have a huge following in the Waterford area.
Some of the local performers are Tadgh Maher, Seamus Doran, Joe Coughlan, Johnny Keegan, Ted Stapleton, Mick Thompson, Eileen & Bridgid Maher, Tom Mc Donald, Anthony Bourke, Ted Stapleton, Anthony & Billy Cummins, Steve McCusker, Bobby Fahy and Francis McDonald.
Doors open at 8pm and the show start at 8.30pm admission is 10 euro & 5 euro for students.
All proceeds will go to Roscrea Hospice
