The inaugural Paddy Delaney Table Quiz in aid of “Pieta House” took place recently and was a great success. There was a huge turnout for the well publicised event which raised a total of €3022.00 for Pieta House.
It was very rewarding and motivating night for all those involved. Congratulations to all the winners on the night and a big thank you to all the businesses that supported the initiative. A big thank you in particular to Marie Fletcher who donated a cheque of €600.00 on the night in addition to the many spot prizes that she gathered for the event.
Thanks also to the recently formed Devils Bit Macra who also donated a cheque and to Donal O’Sullivan who sponsored the winning shield. The guest speaker on the night was Cathy Kelly from Pieta House in Lucan. Cathy gave a brief talk to all those that attended and she also competed in the quiz itself. She congratulated the organising committee and said that she was already looking forward to next year’s event.
The quiz master was Liam Doran and there was tangible excitement in the hall as the quiz went into the tie break rounds which cumulated in a sudden death round to separate second and third place.
Seamus Moloughney’s team emerged as winners with John O’Connors team second and Donal O’Sullivan’s team in third. Well done to all.
