Roscrea Town Enhancement Plan Update
The Chairman of the Roscrea Town Enhancement Plan, Brian King, announced this week that work to prepare the Roscrea Town Enhancement Plan is now underway. Specialist consultants from The Paul Hogarth Company have been appointed, and are now working closely with the Enhancement Group Committee, and its partners. The plan will identify a series of proposals for improving the town centre's public realm - ie its streets and public spaces, prominent buildings etc. Over the next fourteen weeks, local people will be invited to avail of several opportunities to take part in this exciting process.
The first step in the process is analysis. This involves 'getting under the skin' of Roscrea, to fully understand what's working and why, as well as what needs be addressed through the plan. This will in part be informed by desktop research and site analysis carried out by the consultants. However, the most valuable component of this work will be capturing the views of local people and stakeholder organisations.
The Enhancement Group committee would therefore like to invite you to a public workshop at the Damer Court Hotel on Wednesday 29 August from 2pm – 6pm. Brian King stated that this will be an opportunity for the general public to meet the consultant team and learn about the process to develop the plan. He said that the workshop will give the people of Roscrea, the town’s most important asset, the first chance to have their say.
The public are invited to drop in at anytime between 2 and 8pm. You will get to meet one of the consultants who will ask you what you think about Roscrea Town Centre. The Chairman stated this week that he very much hopes that as many people as possible take a few minutes to drop in, meet the consultants and have their say in shaping the future of Roscrea town.
If you can not attend the workshop but would like to give your thoughts which will be passed on to the Roscrea Town Enhancement Group, consultant team, you can email your thoughts, opinions and suggestions to Brian King at firstname.lastname@example.org.
