The Chairman of the Roscrea Town Enhancement Plan, Brian King, has thanked all the stakeholders and members of the general public that kindly gave their time to participate recently in both a stakeholders and public consultation day. Both days were critical in the efforts to commence developing Roscrea’s Town Enhancement plan.
Specialist consultants from The Paul Hogarth Company helped facilitate both days which proved to be very constructive. Before the meetings took place time was taken to introduce the Paul Hogarth Team to Roscrea. This involved a walk around the streets of Roscrea following the latest meeting of the Enhancement Group. The group would like to thank George Cunningham who led the walk and left a very favorable impression on all in attendance. After the walk the Project leader James Hennessey said that Roscrea has many qualities in its built fabric, buildings and spaces and in the people who live and work in the area. He said that the success of this plan will be dependant on our collective ability (The Roscrea Town Enhancement Group and consultant team) to understand and harness these considerable assets for the good of Roscrea. He said that the Paul Hogarth Company recognise that to be successful this plan must belong to the people of Roscrea, as opposed to being something that is imposed upon the town from elsewhere.
Brian King said that the Enhancement Group is happy with the work to date. He said that the group had made it quiet clear to the consultants that Roscrea was bored to death with hearing the word “potential” and that we must now begin to realise that potential. He said that The Enhancement Group will work closely with the Consultants over the next few weeks and that the plan cannot just be about good ideas, it must also be focused on delivery.
A lot of the pre analysis work for the enhancement plan is already complete. In this regard the Enhancement Group is extremely grateful to Mary Brennan who worked extremely hard with Marion Carey through North Tipperary County Council over the past few months. Mary recently parted from the Council offices and the Enhancement Group would like to thank her for her tremendous dedication to this Roscrea project as well as wish her every success for the future.
A second round of public consultation meetings will take place soon. Again this will be an ideal opportunity for the general public to meet the consultant team and have their say in the future of Roscrea. In the meantime if you have thoughts or suggestions for improving our town please email Brian King at email@example.com. All information will be forwarded to the project team and will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Finally the Enhancement Group would like to congratulate all those associated with the RoscreBeo festival. The festival was a great success and was evidence that the Enhancement Group has already proved it’s worth by serving as a catalyst to bring so many people in the community together to stage such a worthwhile event.
