Kennedy Park Residents Association brought a little seasonal cheer to it's residents when they switched on their Christmas lights and crib recently. A lot of effort and hard work went into organising the event but with help from a few people it happened. The Committee wanted something to bring a smile if only for awhile to the estate in these hard times .
Chairman of Roscrea Credit Union Patsy Treacy and Chairman of the Kennedy Park Christmas organising Committee Pat lee, are pictured here with members of the committee and Deirdre Hogan and Rosaleen Ryan from Roscrea Credit Union at the switching on of the Kennedy Park Christmas Tree lights.
We rang around and knocked a few doors and we were told we had our tree

lights and Brigid Feehan donated the Holy Family and Eoin Quinlan offered us
the use of a generator,it was all coming together and we could not wait. On
Thursday Pat Lee Con O lone Richard Loughnane and Martin Loughnane dug the
hole and planted the Tree Con had made the Crib so it was put in place the
DIY,Daniel Feehan, Christy Behan and An Anonymous Donor gave lights to
place around the crib it was all decorated and ready to go,so on friday
evening the people of the park and pass residents gathered for the big turn
on and no better person to turn on the lights but our oldest resident Mr Dan

was thrilled to be asked but we told him the honour was all ours.
Dan lit up the tree after a count down and took great pride in doing it and
stayed to have a few pics taken. We would also like to thank the choir from
Corville school who sang the Hearts out accompanied by Simon Jason and Edwin
Simmons and Mr John Slattery who conducted them.We used our tree as a
remembrance tree so with Fr Hardings blessings of both we asked people to
place a star with a loved ones name and we also placed stars for passed
