The Roscrea Darts final was held in Roscrea Rugby Club recently. Contesting the B final was “The Hogan Stand” who went up against “John Carroll’s” and contesting the A final was Jack’s Bar” against “Delahunty’s” (Dellboys)
The B final was won by “John Carroll’s” who just piped the “Hogan Stand” to the post. The A final was a game that was expected to be a nail biting game with the favourites, Jack’s Bar going for a three in a row. However they were up against the former Banagher League winners “Mick Delahunty’s” (Delboys) who produced the darts of the night and emerge as victors and in doing so prevent “Jack’s Bar” from making history.
Trophies on the night were as they have been since the league’s inception three years ago sponsored by Roscrea Credit Union. The committee of the darts league would like to thank Roscrea Credit Union and it’s manager Brian King for all their support.

Likewise Roscrea Credit Union themselves were equally complementary of the Roscrea darts league committee with Brian King stating this week that ever since he was first approached by Ollie Stapleton for support for this initiative three years ago now, the league has gone from strength to strength. Brian King said that whatever about the economic benefits that the league organisers have brought to Roscrea, the social benefits are of tremendous importance. Brian king said it was a credit to the Roscrea Darts Committee that they have mobilised so many people in the area into playing the game, a game that has experienced huge growth internationally particularly over the last fifteen years and he wished the Roscrea Darts League many more years of continued success. Chairman of the Credit Union, Sean Hogan echoed similar sentiments and said it was great for Roscrea to have another committee working so hard to provide a recreational outlet for people.
Since the Roscrea League finals both John Carroll’s and Delahunty’s (Dellboy’s) went on to represent Roscrea in the North Tipperary Darts Championship which took place in Nenagh. John Carroll’s were unlucky on the night and were defeated by McGrath’s bar. In the A final the mighty Delboys faced the “Well Bar” from Nenagh and despite the Nenagh lads having home advantage it was the visitors from Roscrea that came out on top winning a great match to finish the season as North Tipperary and Roscrea League Champions. Well done to all involved.
