The Irish Heart Foundation in association with The Roscrea Trail Blazers will be launching the new Sli Na Slainte route on Wednesday, January the 27th. The opening will take place at Rosemary Square at 10.30am with a walk of the route and tea and coffee in The Abbey Hall afterwards. Representatives from the Irish Heart Foundation will be on hand to explain the concept of this walk with people being encouraged to get out and get active for a healthy heart and better wellbeing.
The project is supported by the Roscrea Trail Blazers and sponsored by Roscrea Lions Club, North Tipperary Co. Co., Roscrea Tidy Towns, Roscrea Credit Union, Roscrea SVDP, local GP’s, Roscrea Enhancement Plan and Roscrea Cardiac Responders.
Chairman of the Roscrea Enhancement Plan, Brian king congratulated Cathal McNicholas and his committee for bringing this project to fruition. Brian said that Cathal is also working on two other very exciting walking projects in the area namely in Monaincha and the Greenway between Roscrea and Birr both of which offer great opportunities to the town from a social and economic aspect.
