Roscrea Enhancement Plan: Signage Strategy
The Roscrea Signage Strategy has formed an important part of the Roscrea Enhancement Committee agenda for the past number of years. After a number of studies and audits the committee through Tipperary County Council were able to engage the services of design consultant Deirdre Black some months ago.
Brian King the Chairman of the Enhancement Committee told us this week that since that appointment progress on the signage strategy has accelerated. A public workshop took place on April 28th last in the Munitir Na Tire Hall followed by the presentation of some draft proposals at a public meeting in Damer House on June 15th. Brian King explained that this open and inclusive strategy is very important and that the feedback received at both these occasions was used to help formulate the draft signage strategy which is now on display at Roscrea Credit Union.
Members of the Roscrea Enhancement Committee were delighted recently to consult with a number of landscape architects, the local authority and the general public on a signage strategy for Roscrea.
Back Row L/R: Brian King (Enhancement Committee Chairman), Cathal McNicholas, Dick Conroy, Michael Madden, Cllr Michael Smith & Adrian Hewson.
Front Row L/R: Marion Carey (Enhancement Committee/Local Authority), Eileen Doherty, Deirdre Black (D. Black Associates) & Sue Manley (Placemarque)
The signage strategy will remain on display in the credit union until August 30th. Brian King said he would encourage all groups, individuals etc that have an interest in promoting Roscrea to visit the exhibit. The Credit Union is open six days a week including a late opening on Friday evening (6.30pm) and Saturday opening (1pm).
Members of the public are invited to review these draft proposals and exciting new concepts. Brian thanked all those that engaged in the two previous events which generated lively debate, great ideas and fed into the now draft proposals. The Chairman said he would encourage the public to have a voice and continue to give their feedback by responding to our design consultant Deirdre Black at email@example.com or himself at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Following incorporation of all feedback, the final signage strategy will form the basis of funding applications. Please note that these draft proposals are subject to further archaeological and traffic management approvals.
