Roscrea Autumn Festival Sunday 4th Sept - Sunday 11th Sept

A Celebration Of Past And Present

Over the last two years Roscrea has had numerous successful summer events. We have enjoyed tremendous success with the Milk Rs, The Special Olympics and of course Fleadh Cheoil Na Mumhan. The enthusiasm and goodwill generated by these events has encouraged the festival committee for Aonach Ros Cr that the time is now right for the town to stand on its own two feet and organise its own unique week long festival.

Over the eight days of the Aonach Ros Cr Festival locals and visitors to Roscrea will be treated to music and song, concerts and entertainment, tours and competitions, art and craft displays, workshops, historical re-enactments and exciting presentations of Roscrea's long and illustrious past. The Ancient Fair of Roscrea, Aonach Ros Cr which was held annually in the town on the feastday of St Peter and Paul will be once again celebrated during the first week of September, this time to coincide with National Heritage Week.

Our grateful thanks to Roscrea Credit Union for their extensive support of the festival. Thanks also to Glanbia for their generous sponsorship and a big thank you to Roscrea Heritage, Roscrea 2000, the local Garda and the OPW for all their contributions.

Roscrea is now a town rich in culture having welcomed people from many different nations to our doorsteps particularly over the last number of years. This festival will be used as a medium for building a positive response to integration issues, nurturing respect and understanding through, history, culture, arts and entertainment.

We hope you enjoy this programme of events and we wish all our visitors a fantastic festival week. We encourage the local community and the business community in particular to be as supportive of as many of our events as possible. Your support for this year's festival will set the barometer for what this festival committee can hope to achieve over the years to come.
